June Prayer of the Month ~

God of sun and rain, thunder and gentle breezes, we thank you

this day for the abundant life on our planet and the abundant love which is ours from you.

As we go to work, do our daily chores, and take care of family and home,

remind us again and again that with you all things are possible.

Help us to live a life that is centered in you and open to the world around us.

Be with our church as we live out our faith and share the good news.

Be with our community as it strives to be a place of opportunity

and neighbors helping neighbors.

Be with our country as we tackle the tough challenges;

give us wisdom and courage to do what is right.

Amen.

Venture is coming here...

They will be arriving Saturday, June 30th, evening,

presenting a program after worship on Sunday morning,

and leaving us on Monday morning July 2nd.

Trip Overview

This is it – the longest bicycle trip at Venture.

This 8-week expedition brings you from the bustling streets of Seattle, Washington to New York City, NY,

where you’ll dip your tire into the Atlantic Ocean after biking through 13 states,

traveling over 4,000 miles, and pedaling up more than 60,000 feet.

This ride isn’t just about an epic adventure, however. With a strong focus on biblical justice and discipleship,

you and your team will study, learn, reflect, and wrestle together

on some of life’s most important and pressing questions:

Who am I? Who is God? How might I respond to suffering and injustice in the world?

And as you meet your fundraising goal prior to departing,

you’ll inspire your community to actively engage with you in the redemptive

and beautiful story of justice and hope that God is writing right here,

and right now, through Venture’s Mission Projects in Southeast Asia.
